KKPoker launches EV CHOP feature in Cash Games! Players of NLH, PLO, FLASH, 6+, & Bombpot will now be able to experience the feature at eligible tables.
WHAT IS EV CHOP?
EV Chop is a cash game function that allows players to settle the prize pool in advance based on their current win probability.
In an all-in scenario, where all remaining players are competing for the pot, if the pot reaches 20BB or more and the river card has not been dealt, no further action required, players can use EV Chop to claim a portion of the prize pool according to their current equity.
Key Rules:
Eligible Cash Games only.
All-In Scenario and Pot 20BB+.
Only available during Preflop, Flop and Turn betting rounds.
WHY USE EV CHOP?
Benefits include:
● Chance to reduce variance/losses, more control over your options.
In unfavorable EV situations, EV Chop provides an opportunity to retrieve part of the invested amount, helping to potentially cut losses and reduce potential financial risks.
● Lock in Cash Out
In favorable EV situations, players can cash out a portion of their expected winnings in advance, reducing variance.
WHAT GAMES INCLUDE EV CHOP?
● EV Chop applies only to Cash Games and not MTT or SNG.
● Eligible game types: NLH, PLO, PLO5, Flash, 6+, Bombpot (Not applicable to double board games.)
EV CHOP CALCULATIONS
Cashout: Players can withdraw a portion of the pot based on their current win probability (equity). Once they select this option, they will receive the specified amount immediately but forfeit their right to continue competing for the full pot.
Resume Hand: Players can reject the EV Chop offer and continue playing as usual, competing for the full pot. Even if opponents choose to cash out, players who do not accept EV Chop must still have the best hand at showdown to win the pot.
Calculation Formula - 2% Platform Fee
EV Chop Fee = (Pot - Fee) * Equity * 0.02
*If there are multiple pots, the EV Chop Fee will be calculated for each pot.
Calculation Formula - Player Payout
Cashout = (Pot - Fee) * Equity - EV Chop Fee
*If there are multiple pots, the EV Chop Fee will be calculated for each pot.
*The EV Chop amount represents the platform’s profit (positive value) or loss (negative value) for that hand.
EV Chop Trigger Conditions
Basic Conditions：
● The Table must have EV Chop function enabled.
● The current betting round must be Preflop, Flop, or Turn (not applicable to the River).
● The hand must determine a winner by comparing hand strength, and all non-competing players must have folded.
● The main pot or any side pot must be at least 20BB.
● At least one player must have a different equity percentage from the others.
If the above five conditions are not all met, none of the players in this hand will be able to use EV Chop.
*If all five conditions are met, the following criteria will be used to determine whether each player qualifies for EV Chop:
● The player is still competing for at least one pot of ≧20BB.
● The player’s win probability in that pot is neither 100% nor 0% (i.e., they still have a chance to win or lose).
● The player’s eligible Cashout amount is ≧0.01.
Summary: EV Chop will only be offered if the hand meets the initial five conditions, and the player meets the additional three conditions.
EV Chop vs. Run Multiple Times
EV Chop & Run Multiple Times functions can not be used together.
● Example scenario 1:
- $100 pot with two players (A and B).
- A’s equity = 20%, B’s equity = 80%.
- A chooses EV Chop → Cashes out $20.
- B chooses to Resume Hand → Continues to showdown.
- Run Multiple Times will NOT be triggered in this case.
● Example scenario 2:
- $100 pot with two players (A and B).
- A’s equity = 20%, B’s equity = 80%.
- Both A and B choose not to EV Chop.
- Run Multiple Times will be triggered afterwards.
- A and B continue to showdown.
