Dylan was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, and was first introduced to the exciting game of poker through his father, who would host home games with his friends and have a role as a poker dealer at local bar games.
Since then, Dylan has become a recognized name in the Canada tournament scene winning over US$345,000 in recorded live cashes, including a $63,461 top-prize during the 2024 WSOPC Calgary Ring Event.
"I first started playing poker online with my father on all the older popular sites. After playing online for a little while and learning the game, with slight success, I transitioned to playing at the local bar. It soon became my favorite hobby and obsession." Said Dylan.
Like many others before him, Dylan truly caught the poker bug and would patiently wait to watch the best poker players in the world compete in the game's annual biggest live poker series.
"My father and I would anticipate watching the WSOP Main Event coverage every year on TV and dream about heading down to Vegas to play! We would play online, travel, and play together as sort of a father/son poker duo!
"When I told my father I had won he was very happy for me and eager to hear more about the challenge so he could jump in and participate himself!".

"One of the biggest challenges is dedicating time to playing every game bi-weekly. You may have family events, traveling, or anything that can come up, but it's crucial to get every point you can!
"There were a few crucial hands in the final $100 game that rocketed me up to a fighting position in the end, as I went to the final table very short and had two people very close to me points-wise who had good stacks. I went into the final 8 in 8th place, so clearly, there were some spots I needed extraordinary luck in, and it came...I clearly remember hitting not one, but two, two-outers when all in preflop at the final table…thank goodness haha!" said Dylan.
It shows that dedication to a cause, consistency, solid strategy, and an element of luck will all come together in the end. So, how did Dylan feel once he realized he had achieved his goal?
"Winning the KKPoker Canada's Best 2024 event means a lot to me as I battled with many players I admire and respect in the Canadian poker community. Many absolutely amazing players participate in this challenge yearly, and I'm lucky I ran as well as I did to win this year. As for the prize money, I will put it back into my poker bankroll and hope to multiply the babies!"
