Christopher Alcindor Claims KKLIVE Maritimes Main Event Title

KK CRUSHER Christopher Alcindor continued his remarkable year in live poker by winning the KKLIVE Maritimes Main Event for C$20,220.
KKLIVE recently returned to Canada’s Maritimes region and set a new record with a C$145,800 Main Event prize pool.
For Alcindor, who won his first WSOP Bracelet in June 2026, the victory added another major achievement to an already memorable year.
After joining the action through the live Day 1 flights, Alcindor battled his way through the 486-player field to claim the title.
“I’ve always wanted to write my name on the KKPoker “Stanley Cup” of poker, and I was so happy I got to when the opportunity presented itself.” said Chris.
A Special Return to KKLIVE Maritimes
The victory was particularly meaningful for Alcindor, who had been involved in the previous year’s event as a consultant rather than a player.
“This KKLIVE Maritime event was special for me because I didn’t get to play the year before when it was in NB, since I had to attend as one of the consultants. This time around, though, I was happy I got to play, and it was at the same venue, except they recently renovated the poker room and the tables, so the overall ambiance and experience were even better!
“Theplayers were as friendly as ever, but still ready to compete and give themselves a fair shot at the top prize and the trophy!
“As for me, since I hadn’t bagged a stack for Day 2 before playing the Online Day 1s, I was a bit under pressure, as the three LIVE Day 1s left were my last chance to get in the mix and hope for the best on the final day. So I did just that, and after firing no less than 6 bullets, I advanced to Day 2 with one of the biggest stacks. I know that’s a lot of entries, but to my defense, the Maritime guys are pretty tough and don’t give up that easily!
“On Day 2, my goal was simple: connect with the players, play my A game, and enjoy myself as much as possible at the tables, because that’s what these community-building events are for.
“Every table felt like a Maritime home game, and it didn’t take too long for us to eventually reach the FT after the dinner break. From there, it felt like I kept getting lucky at the right time because I couldn’t lose an all-in, especially when I was behind… I mean, I won A6o > A7o, QTo > A5s, A5s > A6s and A9s > AJo to list a few.
“We had a lot of back-and-forth when we were down to 4 players. We even discussed making a deal as the blinds kept getting bigger, but in the end I finished the job and brought back the win!” added Chris.
Beyond the prize money and competition, KKLIVE gives Canadian poker players the chance to reconnect in person after years of battling online. The Maritime series was co-hosted by the KKPoker team alongside Trevor and April Delaney, whose combined efforts helped deliver a record-breaking event.
“The event went exceptionally well, and we’re very pleased with what we accomplished as a team. We broke previous records, and we’re incredibly proud of that. We always work hard to put on great events, and hearing players ask when the next one is tells us we’re on the right track. It’s a wonderful sign that live poker is alive and well in the Maritimes!” said Trevor.
“Reaching those numbers is incredible, and it means a lot to our whole team. With 486 Main Event entries and a C$145,800 prize pool, this became the biggest KKLIVE event in Canada so far. We’re always setting goals and working to make each tournament bigger and better than the last, so seeing that growth is incredibly rewarding. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and excited to keep building on it.“
The combination of online and live poker also played an important role in the event’s success. KKPoker players had the opportunity to win tickets through online satellites and qualify for Day 2 through the online Day 1 flights, creating another route into the live action.
Behind the scenes, Trevor managed the live event and ensured players had a point of contact, while his wife, April, took care of the administration. From managing the tournament clock, rebuys and payouts to sharing social media updates, her work helped keep the series running smoothly.
“Canadian poker players are a close-knit community, and when people have a great experience, word of mouth travels fast. All this planning, promotion, teamwork, and support, along with the excitement our players shared, helped make KKLive Maritime such a success. Hearing players ask for more events means a lot to us.” added Trevor.
Memorable Moments On and Off the Tables
The record-breaking numbers were only part of what made the series special. The atmosphere throughout the Main Event and Side Event was another highlight, with players enjoying the competition and supporting one another throughout.
“There were so many great moments throughout the event, but what stood out most was seeing the room full of players enjoying themselves and supporting one another. Watching the excitement build as the events unfolded and hearing players say they had a great time was really special. Those moments remind us why we put so much work into bringing everyone together.” added Trevor.
The Main Event felt even more special by the fact that Alcindor is not only a close friend of the Delaneys but also a fellow KKPoker consultant. Seeing him lift the trophy was a memorable moment for the team and a fitting highlight of a record-breaking series.
“It was such an exciting night, and seeing Chris win the Main Event made it even more special. He’s a good friend, so we were thrilled to watch him take home the trophy. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was wonderful to celebrate his achievement with everyone. We’re so happy for him what a memorable finish to a fantastic event!
